Coaching, Creativity, and Trolls: What Yesterday Taught Me About Building with AI
I coached a spa founder, responded to a YouTube troll, and reflected on AI’s creative role — all in one day. Here's what it reminded me about building.

Hi again, this is G — builder, experimenter, and someone who’s learning to embrace the messy middle of creation.
Yesterday was a mix of coaching entrepreneurs, reflecting on AI’s creative role, and feeling all the feels that come with building in public.
Mentoring Through the DTI KMME Program
For those new here, I’m a mentor with the DTI Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Program, where I help MSMEs across the Philippines refine their business improvement plans, pitch presentations, and growth strategies. This program is designed to uplift small businesses by providing coaching from experienced entrepreneurs and industry pros.

Yesterday, I had a one-on-one session with Ms. Chariz Mualil, owner of CG Massage and Spa from Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental. Her story is deeply personal — a full-time mom with seven kids, starting her spa in 2019 after facing her own struggles with back pain and caregiving. She wants to create a safe space for hardworking women to feel truly cared for.
Here are the highlights from our session:
- She needs to start her business presentation with her story to create emotional connection.
- Her mission and vision statements should reflect her values and journey authentically.
- The financial documents need better customization — adding dates, accurate figures, and tailored commentary rather than copy-pasting.
- We practiced a 10-minute mock presentation to boost confidence and clarity.
Here’s a prompt she can use to update her mission and vision statements with ChatGPT:
I’m a full-time mom with seven kids. I started CG Body Massage in 2019 while caring for my youngest (7th) child, who was born with health challenges. During that time, I often suffered from back pain, but whenever I went to spas, I felt overlooked — like my pain wasn’t a priority.
That experience opened my eyes to how many women, especially moms, feel unseen when it comes to self-care. I wanted to build a space where people like me — moms, caregivers, hardworking women — could finally feel understood, cared for, and truly relieved of physical stress.
At the same time, I wanted to contribute to our household income. With seven children and being a full-time housewife, starting a spa was both a personal need and a practical solution.
Please help me write a heartfelt mission statement and a clear, inspiring vision statement that reflect these values and stories. Make it warm, authentic, and rooted in real-life experiences.
Takeaway lessons for business owners and coaches:
- Start with your story — it’s the bridge to your audience’s heart.
- Customize your financials — don’t just copy-paste, make it speak to your reality.
- Use AI tools like ChatGPT to help refine your business documents and statements.
- Practice your pitch to gain confidence and clarity.
AI, Creativity, and a Troll Comment
After coaching, I read this gem on one of my YouTube videos comment section:
“AI is literal garbage wow this video just proves it.” – @dunno5826

Old me might’ve spiraled. New me? I smiled.
This troll comment sparked a real conversation worth having:
- What is the role of AI in creativity today?
- Where does it help — and where does it hurt?
- When is AI creativity helpful vs harmful?
I didn’t upload that video to replace anyone. I uploaded it to experiment. To stretch what’s possible. But here’s the honest truth: not everything will resonate. Not everyone will be impressed. And that’s okay.
So I want to ask you, as fellow agency builders and creatives:
Where do you draw the line between AI as a creative tool vs AI as a shortcut? Or do you even think there should be a line?
I want to unpack this — not to fight trolls, but to sharpen our thinking as this space evolves. Maybe one person’s “garbage” is another builder’s version 1.
Real Talk: Feeling Like I Wasted Yesterday
I’m not gonna lie — yesterday felt slow. I didn’t do much planning beyond posting my usual social media content through my automation.
But you know what? That’s a reality many builders face. Some days are just about showing up, keeping the lights on, and trusting that the small actions add up.
It’s easy to feel unproductive when you’re used to big wins and launches. But real growth is a series of small, consistent moves.
Remember: It’s okay to have quiet days. The foundation you build today supports your leaps tomorrow.
Closing Thoughts
Building in public isn’t just about the wins. It’s about the messy middles, the trolls, the small coaching moments, and the quiet days of trust.
If you’re reading this and wondering if your own “slow day” counts, it does.
